Rolls and strips with abrasives used to polish metal components or metallographic specimens. These are used to smooth, remove layers of material from, or occasionally make surfaces rougher by removing small amounts of material. Useful for both wet and dry applications. It can be used to smooth glass edges and frost glass surfaces, as well as hardwood and plywood, soft metals like brass and aluminium, and plastic. Although it is brittle and nearly as hard as diamond, it cuts quickly, thus if used on hard metal, the coarser grades will wear out quickly.
