Depending on the application, the spherical micrometre is offered with a spherical face on the anvil and a flat spindle measuring surface, or with spherical measuring surfaces on the anvil and spindle. A ratchet-stop mechanism applies consistent pressure to a workpiece, allowing for exact, repeatable measurements and eliminating over-speed error.
